Steven Le Prevost

Biography

Where possible my aims is to challenge the fundamentals and boundaries of photography and to strive to be unique in my preferred style of photographic art. Genres covered are still life, character and nautical studies, all influenced by impressionism.

My goal is to create a picture that portrays mood, atmosphere and emotion. Achieving this may involve purposely removing the clinical sharpness that is generally associated with a photograph or possibly working on the colour palette to allow the colours to bleed and become more fluid.

I have served on the Royal Photographic Societies Fine Art Distinctions Panel and have work included within the RPS Permanent Collection. An invitation to membership of the London Salon of Photography was proudly accepted in 2011.

I hold the following distinctions.

FRPS – Fellow. (Royal Photographic Society) 2005

MPAGB – Master. (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) 2005

AFIAP – Artiste. (Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique) 2010

FRPS – Fellow. (Royal Photographic Society) 2016

FIPF - Fellow. (Irish Photographic Federation) 2016

Home is the Channel Island of Guernsey, although I can often be found away from island life judging national and international photographic salons or presenting my own work at various events.
